GET /analytics/v3/data/* → version retirement

Google APIs

Stopped working

On July 1, 2024, GET /analytics/v3/data/* stopped working as Universal Analytics sunset. Requests to this endpoint now fail. The retirement affects all calls targeting the /analytics/v3/data/* path.

Calls it hits

  • GET /analytics/v3/data/*

What to use instead of these calls

Report on a Google Analytics 4 property with the Google Analytics Data API using runReport or runRealtimeReport on analyticsdata.googleapis.com. The transition requires more than updating an endpoint, as Universal Analytics data does not move and reports require a GA4 property along with new dimensions and metrics.

Universal Analytics data does not move: the reports need a GA4 property and new dimensions and metrics.

In Google APIs's words

Universal Analytics has sunset and is no longer available as of July 1, 2024.
