Tenor API · Version retirement
The v2 API stops working
Stopped working
Calls to the /v2/* endpoints on tenor.googleapis.com will stop working on June 30, 2026. The provider has decided to sunset the service to focus resources on enhancing core products. After this date, all requests to these endpoints will fail.
What to use instead of these calls
Google offers no replacement for the service. You must either remove the Tenor integration entirely or switch to another GIF API, which requires choosing a new provider with its own key and terms.
Google offers no replacement: moving to another GIF provider is a product decision, with its own key and terms.
Calls it hits

As part of an ongoing effort to focus resources on enhancing our core products, we've made the decision to sunset the Tenor API on June 30, 2026.
