Google Content API for Shopping · Endpoint removal
The Content API for Shopping stops working
Stopped working
On September 1, 2026, requests to /content/* endpoints will fail. Calls made by clients lacking an active extension will intermittently return an HTTP 410 Gone status code as the endpoints shut down.
What to use instead of these calls
Migrate to Merchant API v1 (merchantapi.googleapis.com) following the Merchant API migration guide, or submit an extension request to Google. Moving to the replacement requires a rewrite of the integration, as the Merchant API is a different API with its own resources and sub-APIs.
The Merchant API is a different API with its own resources and sub-APIs: moving over is a rewrite of the integration, or an extension request to Google.
Calls it hits
/content/*
Starting September 1, 2026 , requests sent to Google Content API for Shopping endpoints by clients without an active extension will intermittently fail with an HTTP 410 Gone status code.
