The Event Data API stops working

The Event Data API will be sunset on April 23, 2026. All calls to api.eventdata.crossref.org will fail after this date. Crossref is removing the service entirely, ending access to the public API.
What to use instead of these calls
Remove calls to the Event Data API. Events already collected remain accessible through a static repository, but there is no replacement API. Teams must find another source for new events or remove the dependent feature.
No replacement API: new events need another source, or the feature goes.
The Event Data public API was sunset on 23 April 2026.
