What to use instead of gemini-1.5-flash-002
Move to gemini-3.8-flash. gemini-2.5-flash, also named, is closed to some callers (Google: "we are limiting access to the 2.5 models to users who have actively used them in the past." Projects that already called it keep it; new projects are told to use 3.5 Flash-Lite or 3.8 Flash.). 2.5 Flash is the direct successor, but Google now limits the 2.5 models to users who already used them: a project that never called it cannot move to it, and should take gemini-3.8-flash instead.
