# The Programmable Chat API is deprecated

Twilio Programmable Chat API deprecated these calls without giving a shutdown date yet.

The provider has deprecated the Programmable Chat API without specifying a general shutdown date, though Programmable Chat in Flex reaches end of life on June 1, 2026. Affected calls will eventually fail, as the service may stop working as expected and will not receive enhancements, bug fixes, or security updates.

## What to use instead

Migrate to the Conversations API (conversations.twilio.com/v1) and Flex Conversations.
