# The legacy Content API stops working

On August 31, 2026, the legacy Tripadvisor Content API will be sunset and its API keys deprecated. Calls to /api/v1/* will fail after this date. Existing integrations must transition before this deadline to avoid service disruption.

## What to use instead

Sign up for Terra Discover at the developer portal, generate a Terra API key, and call the Terra endpoints with version 1. Moving to Terra requires more than changing an identifier, as it is a new product involving a new account, new terms, and usage-based pricing replacing the free tier.

Terra is a new product: a new account, a new key, new terms and usage-based pricing replacing the free tier.
