# POST /v2/locations/{}/transactions stops working

Calls to POST /v2/locations/{}/transactions* on Squareupsandbox stopped working on September 16, 2026.

On September 16, 2026, write operations in the Transactions API will be retired. Calls to POST /v2/locations/{}/transactions* will fail after that date. This change impacts operations including Charge, CreateRefund, CaptureTransaction, and VoidTransaction.

## What to use instead

Charge with POST /v2/payments (CreatePayment) and refund with POST /v2/refunds. For delayed capture, use POST /v2/payments/{payment_id}/complete or /cancel.
