# /oauth/* is deprecated

Simkl API deprecated /oauth/* without giving a shutdown date yet.

Simkl API deprecated the /oauth/* endpoints on September 18, 2026, without a fixed shutdown date. Calls to /oauth/* are expected to stop working around April 2027, after which they will fail.

## What to use instead

Register a V2 app with a new client_id, and note that existing users must authorize it again because no V1 token can be exchanged. Update endpoints by changing POST /oauth/token to POST /oauth2/token, GET /oauth/pin to POST /oauth2/device, and the browser /oauth/authorize to /oauth2/authorize.

AUTH V2 needs a newly registered app with a new client_id, and every existing user must authorize it again: no V1 token can be exchanged.
