# The Dependency API stops working

Calls to GET /api/v1/dependencies* on RubyGems.org API stopped working on May 24, 2023.

On May 24, 2023, the Dependency API was disabled after a final two week extension. Requests sent to GET /api/v1/dependencies* now fail.

## What to use instead

Use the Compact Index API at index.rubygems.org/info/{gem} or the Gem Version API at GET /api/v1/versions/{gem}.json instead.
