# The Stats API v1 is deprecated

Plausible Analytics API deprecated /api/v1/stats/* without giving a shutdown date yet.

Plausible has deprecated the /api/v1/stats/* endpoints without a shutdown date, labeling them a legacy feature. Requests to these paths will eventually fail once the retirement takes effect. This change applies to all callers using the v1 stats endpoints.

## What to use instead

Query stats with the Stats API v2 by sending POST requests to /api/v2/query with a JSON body containing site_id, metrics, date_range, dimensions, and filters.
