# The segmentation.keepSalientObject parameter stops working

Calls to POST /v2/edit, body parameter segmentation.keepSalientObject on Photoroom Image Editing API stopped working on December 19, 2024.

On December 19, 2024, the Photoroom Image Editing API removed the body parameter segmentation.keepSalientObject. This change affects POST /v2/edit requests that still submit this setting. Following this removal, calls containing the parameter fail.

Send segmentation.mode=keepSalientObject or segmentation.mode=ignoreSalientObject instead.
