# The XML-RPC API is deprecated

Odoo External API deprecated /xmlrpc* without giving a shutdown date yet.

Odoo has deprecated the XML-RPC API without a specific shutdown date. This deprecation affects all requests to the /xmlrpc* endpoints. Following this scheduled removal, affected calls fail.

## What to use instead

Use the External JSON-2 API by sending requests to POST /json/2/{model}/{method} with an API key in the Authorization: bearer header.
