# The JSON-RPC API is deprecated

Odoo External API deprecated /jsonrpc without giving a shutdown date yet.

The provider has deprecated the /jsonrpc endpoint without a shutdown date, though it is scheduled for removal in future releases. Calls using this endpoint will eventually fail once removed. This deprecation affects all requests currently targeting the legacy JSON-RPC interface.

## What to use instead

Use the External JSON-2 API instead by sending POST requests to /json/2/{model}/{method} with an API key in the Authorization: bearer header.

> Deprecated since version 19.0. Both the XML-RPC and JSON-RPC APIs at endpoints /xmlrpc , /xmlrpc/2 and /jsonrpc are scheduled for removal in Odoo 22 (fall 2028) and Online 21.1 (winter 2027). The External JSON-2 API acts as a replacement.
