# The Orders API is deprecated

Mollie API deprecated /v2/orders* without giving a shutdown date yet.

Mollie has deprecated the Orders API without a shutdown date, stating that they no longer recommend using it. The change affects calls to /v2/orders*, which will eventually fail. Developers are directed to refer to the Payments API instead.

## What to use instead

Create payments using POST /v2/payments with lines, billingAddress, and captureMode set to manual where you previously captured on shipment, following Mollie's migrating from Orders to Payments guide.
