# The Candidates API is deprecated

Lever deprecated /v1/candidates/* without giving a shutdown date yet.

The /v1/candidates/* endpoints are deprecated without a shutdown date, though they have been maintained for backwards compatibility. Requests to these endpoints will eventually fail. The provider deprecated them as of 2020.

## What to use instead

Call the Opportunities endpoints (/v1/opportunities and /v1/opportunities/{opportunity}/...) instead of /v1/candidates/..., where the candidate id is the opportunity id.
