# numSentences on POST /contents is deprecated

Exa API deprecated POST /contents, body parameter numSentences without giving a shutdown date yet.

The body parameter numSentences on the POST /contents endpoint has been deprecated without a shutdown date. Calls that continue to rely on this parameter will eventually fail once it is fully removed.

## What to use instead

Use highlights.maxCharacters instead.
