# POST /2/files/upload_session/append is deprecated

Dropbox Content API deprecated POST /2/files/upload_session/append without giving a shutdown date yet.

The POST /2/files/upload_session/append endpoint has been deprecated without a shutdown date. Calls made to this route will eventually fail. The route is deprecated in favor of upload_session/append:2.

## What to use instead

Call POST /2/files/upload_session/append_v2 instead. Note that the replacement endpoint takes a cursor and a close flag.
