# The OSM basemap style family is deprecated

ArcGIS Basemap Styles Service deprecated GET /arcgis/rest/services/styles/v2/styles/osm/* without giving a shutdown date yet.

The provider has deprecated the OSM basemap style family without announcing a shutdown date. This change affects GET /arcgis/rest/services/styles/v2/styles/osm/* requests. Styles in this family are currently deprecated and in mature support, and affected calls will eventually fail.

## What to use instead

Request the Open Basemap styles instead using /arcgis/rest/services/styles/v2/styles/open/{style}, such as open/streets or open/osm-style.
