# /v4.0/* stops working

Calls to /v4.0/* on 1inch public Swap API stopped working on August 11, 2023.

On August 11, 2023, the 1inch public Swap API shut down version 4.0 endpoints. Requests targeting /v4.0/* now fail. The provider retired the public service at that time, requiring developers to adjust where and how they send requests.

## What to use instead

Call the Swap API on api.1inch.com, such as GET /swap/v6.1/{chain}/swap, using a bearer API key from 1inch Business. Moving to the newer endpoints requires choosing a plan from 1inch Business to obtain an API key.

The Swap API now needs an API key from 1inch Business, under its plans.
